Job Title:  Structural/Mech Designer

 

DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for generating and checking structural/mechanical/interior drawings for modifications to commercial/corporate/private aircraft.
- Provide technical leadership and structural/mechanical designs on assigned programs.
- Responsible for providing technical support and guidance to Associate Designers.

POSITION DETAILS
- Will work together with Engineers to accomplish detailed structural/mechanical design of aircraft equipment installations and alterations (antennas, avionics equipment, interior components and furnishings).
- Prepare and/or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company and regulatory requirements.
- Work to quickly resolve structural/mechanical manufacturing and installation problems.
- Formulate, implement and track engineering issues to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules, specifications or for problems encountered in design, development and installation.
- Monitor and report status versus requirements.
- Perform additional duties as directed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Requires thorough knowledge of AutoCAD R14 or higher. 2 years of SolidWorks experience is required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Requires working knowledge of and experience with design methodologies and practices.
- Must be able to work either alone or as part of a team to solve problems.
- 5 years experience working on business aircraft completions or modifications.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to generate alternative ideas.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Degree in Design/Drafting or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Reports to Engineering Manager
