Job Title: Stress Engineer
DESCRIPTION
Responsible for generating and checking structural substantiation reports for modifications to commercial/corporate/private aircraft. – Ability to check structural drawings is required - Provide technical leadership and structural analysis on assigned programs. - Serve as primary technical interface with external organizations and integrate the efforts of supporting functions. - Responsible for providing technical support and guidance to Associate Engineers and Designers.
POSITION DETAILS
Provide analysis both during the design process and final analysis after design completion for aircraft equipment installations and alterations (antennas, avionics equipment, major structural alterations, interior components and furnishings). – Prepare and/or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company and regulatory requirements. - Work to quickly resolve structural manufacturing and installation problems. - Formulate, implement and track engineering programs to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules, contracts, specifications or for problems encountered in design, development and installation. - Monitor and report status versus requirements. - Provide structural substantiation guidance/counsel and communicate program information within the organization and supporting groups. - Perform additional duties as directed.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires thorough knowledge of ALGOR finite element analysis software and classical analysis (i.e. Niu, Bruhn, Peterson’s, etc…). AutoCAD R14 or higher and SolidWorks experience is a plus. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. - Requires working knowledge of and experience with design/anslysis methodologies and practices. - Must be able to work either alone or as part of a team to solve problems. - 3 years experience working on business aircraft completions or modifications. - Must be a self-starter with the ability to generate alternative ideas. - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. - Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Reports to Engineering Manager
