Mobile, AL – February 2006 - Star Aviation has been awarded a contract from Singapore Technologies, MAE to assist with the engineering and design requirements to convert a Boeing 757 passenger aircraft to a package freighter.
This program involves the conversion of the passenger aircraft to a special freighter with the capability to carry a quantity of fifteen 88 inch by 125 inch pallets.
Major modifications will include removal of passenger accommodations, installation of an upper forward cargo door, installation of a 9g cargo barrier, installation of the main cargo loading system, structural modifications to the main deck floor and installation of a lavatory in the flight deck.
