Overview Supervise the daily activities of the Material purchasing, stores and shipping groups. Coordinate priorities within and between groups to accomplish on-time deliveries to our customers, delegating responsibilities to maintain even workload between subordinates.
General Duties
Supports manufacturing efficiency by planning, determining, and controlling materials requirements; maintaining inventory database.
Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
Troubleshoot and propose procedures to improve work flow. Ensure each group follows company policies, group procedures and AS9100 practices.
Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
Meets operational standards by contributing materials management information to strategic plans and reviews; resolving problems; identifying materials management system improvements.
Maintains materials control system by scheduling and tracking materials through purchasing, receiving, material handling, raw materials and finished goods inventories, and shipping; developing warehouse layouts.
Controls materials by studying inventory and service-level targets, and manufacturing schedules; conferring with product teams; developing inventory plans; identifying inventory priorities; monitoring inventory levels, lead times, lot sizes, and fill rates; evaluating planned and proposed material/process changes; identifying and resolving problems; developing solutions for launch projects.
Maintains inventory database by ensuring accurate entry and updating of receiving, inventory, and shipping data.
Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Prepares inventory reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Qualifications
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MAS 90 Experience a plus.
