Job Description:Wire Harness Assemblers Overview
Completes wire harness by placing and tying wires, and protecting cable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying work orders, specifications, instructions, diagrams, and wire lists; gathering tools and materials.
Assembles harness by selecting and cutting wires; looping wires between guide pegs following color-coded lines or sequential numbers; wrapping and tieing wires.
Secures knots and protects cable by applying sealing liquid.
Attaches cable to components or plugs by soldering or crimping wires and connectors.
Verifies continuity by testing cable.
Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains wire inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Documents harness by marking identifying data; completing forms.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Qualifications Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MAS 90 Experience a plus.
