Star Aviation was founded in 1999, as an aircraft engineering, certification, & technical services firm in Mobile, Alabama. Due to market demand, the following year, Star Aviation expanded its services to include manufacturing to better serve its customers. Star Aviation expanded its facilities in 2003, to include an office in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle office was opened to provide local services to customers in the Western U.S. Star Aviation has continually grown over the years, from five employees, to over 100 today and two locations, with over 75 engineers and designers specializing in aviation and marine engineering.
Star Aviation is an industry leader specializing in the post-delivery modifications of aircraft including: avionics upgrades, STC certification, structural& electrical design,
in-flight entertainment/system integration, wireless cabin distribution systems,
high-speed data system installation and live television, satellite interfaces, custom equipment racks, interior reconfigurations, broadband data systems, RVSM, cockpit standardization, 3D solid modeling, finite element analysis, and many other services.
All our services are supported by a comprehensive wire and metal fabrication facility.
We are proud to announce we now offer marine engineering including linear and non-linear finite element analysis, heat transfer and event simulation. Star Aviation recently merged with Borowski Engineering & Analytical Services to provide reliable marine engineering services to the industry. Star Aviation can now offer complete engineering and manufacturing services to both aviation and marine industries.
We also provide a wide range of technical services including production illustration drawings, computer-aided drafting, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, schematics and product data management. We deliver engineering documentation suitable for integration directly into your system for seamless work transfer.
Star Aviation can manage a product from prototype to mass production successfully and efficiently for commercial and general aviation aircraft and the aviation and marine industries. Star Aviation is conveniently located adjacent to the Mobile Downtown Airport. Star Aviation has FAA Parts Manufacturing Authority for a multitude of STC programs and is QMI AS9100 certified.
Star Aviation is QMI AS9100 certified at both company locations. QMI is North America’s leading management systems registrar. AS9100 certification is QMI’s Aerospace Quality System Standard and is described as “Safety, airworthiness, product conformity and reliability are all key aspects of AS9100.” We have an advantage on the competition because we adhere to strict AS9100 standards. AS9100 certification proves Star Aviation’s main focus is customer satisfaction. Star Aviation has also been a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) since 2002, and is a member of the World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA).
